An inspection porthole was installed to allow for quick visual safety inspections of the space when passing or prior to entering.
The Caterpillar engines have been impeccably maintained by both their professional yacht service provider and their knowledgeable owners. During May of 2009 numerous long term maintenance items were completed such as the removal of the coolers and heat exchangers to have them completely serviced. Her steel tanks were polished in 2007. The drip-less shaft logs were also serviced at this time. The area is well lighted by her newly installed lighting system. The engine room contains a work bench and offers plenty of space to accomplish all routine servicing.
Neat and organized this engine space is the focus point for most of the yachts mechanical systems including but not limited to the reverse cycle air conditioning, Naiad Stabilization system, gray water management, and electric service items such as her Northern Lights 12kW generator which is housed in a recess at the rear of the engine room along the midline. This generator currently has 3174 hours of usage. Complete service logs have been maintained by her service provider and are available upon request
