Built for Marine Trading International by Bestway Marine, the 40 Labelle was and still is a popular boat thanks to her salty profile and traditional all-teak interior.

The 40 Labelle rides on a solid fiberglass hull with a modest chine and a deep prop-protecting keel.

The Patricia Ann is a two stateroom, two full head vessel with the galley and dinette down amidship, forward of the salon.  The salon sits above the engine compartment. The aft stateroom is one of the largest ever built in any 40 foot vessel.

The Patricia Ann is powered by twin 250 hp Volvo diesels, cruising comfortably at 9 knots at 8 gallons per hour.

Accommodations

The Patricia Ann was built with one of the largest master staterooms of any 40 foot class of boat ever built, measuring approximately 14 x 14 feet.  The rich teak with brass hardware showcases the Taiwanese craftsmanship.

The stateroom is provided with 11 louvered storage lockers, 2 lighted hanging storage lockers and 5 large drawers.  Each locker is approximately 28 inches deep allowing a very large quantity of clothes storage.

The bunk is a center-line queen.

A flat screen audio visual system is mounted starboard of the berth providing us with entertainment when we want to watch a movie.  Brass reading lights are located above the bunk.

The stateroom offers excellent noise cancellation.
The master bath of the Patricia Ann is starboard, leading through a teak privacy door from the master stateroom.  A  separate shower is immediately to the left upon entering.  The bath is provided with a full 5 foot vanity with a single sink.  Mirrors line the entire bath, giving a feeling a spaciousness.  The electric head with Electra Scan is aft in the bath.

Ample storage for medicines and toiletries are available. Towel racks are provided to hang damp linens after bathing

Galley/Dinette

The galley on the Patricia Ann is just right for feeding that hungry crew after a long day on the water.

Upon leaving the salon forward, the Patricia Ann has her galley and dinette down 4 steps.   You can also gain access to the forward part of the engine room here.

The granite counter is U shaped having a double stainless sink on the outboard side and the propane range forward. Immediately to your port side is the refrigerator. A microwave oven sits above the stove and convection oven to left of cook top.  There is plenty of storage for herbs and spices.. A wine glass rack is hung below the cabinets.

On the star board side of the Patricia Ann, across from the galley, is a 4-person dinette.  A polished teak high-low table provides ample dining room.

Below the dinette seating is storage for cooking items rarely used.  Above the dinette are 5 very large lockers for dry goods and a shelf for storage of cookbooks.
Back Deck

The huge back deck of the Patricia Ann is like no other. Large and roomy, it  is perfect for dining out, entertaining or simply relaxing.  This is where we spend the majority of our time.

With the full canvas enclosure, the back deck can be used in all weather conditions.

The deck is finished off with gloss teak flooring, covered with a synthetic oriental rug.

A deck like this one would not be complete without a Bar-B-Qu grill and wet bar to entertain friends.

Several storage boxes are used for storage of propane and cleaning supplies.

A stand alone freezer is also provided for additional cold storage.
Mechanical

The Patricia Ann is powered by two TAMD60C Volvo Diesels, producing 250 horse power each.  The engines are fuel efficient consuming 3.5 gallons per hour each.

The engines turn nicely at 1950 rpms pushing her at over 8 knots.

Fuel is filtered by  3,  2 micron filters on each engine.  Fuel biocides are added to retard  growth.

Shell Rotella 30 is used for lubrication.  Seventeen quarts of oil  are used per engine.

The Patricia Ann is equipped with Twin Disc transmissions.

An 8KW Westerbeke Generator is provided to supply the ship's power
Flybridge

The flybridge is large for her size, with seating room for 6 adults.  The entire bridge is enclosed with canvas and isinglass providning protection in inclement weather  The canvas can be rolled up to allow ventilation when necessary.

The helm is located amidships giving the captain easy access to all ship's system gages and controls and navigational electronics as well as providing excellent visibility.

The Patricia Ann is equipped with Raymarine radar, chart plotter, depth, GPS and autopilot.  A  Standard VHF radio  rounds out the electronics.  All electronic antennas and receivers are located on the radar arch.

Also located on the flybridge is a freshwater sink and Meramaid icemaker.

Salon

The huge salon of the Patricia Ann is amidships, above the engine room.  A full 6-1/2 feet of headroom is provided.  An entry way is starboard through a sliding door and from the aft sundeck.

Typical of traditional trawlers, the salon is provided with large windows allowing a clear view of  passing scenery.  Custom black-out curtains provide privacy and additional insulation when needed.

The master stateroom is accessed through the port-side companionway.  A chart rack above the four stairs acts as a door closure when desired.

The galley and guest stateroom are forward the helm.  A beverage cabinet is located in a locker to the port side of the forward salon.

The salon is equipped with a teak and holly sole, with an oriental rug.  Four panels can be removed for access to the engines.

Mike's office is located on the starboard side.

The forward cabin in the bow of the Patricia Ann is provided with a double bunk starboard, private vanity and bath.

Rich teak cabinetry adorns this cabin as it does in the rest of the boat; many drawers and lockers are provided on the port side.  A book rack rests on the starboard of the bunk.

A private bath (not shown) is provided with head and shower.

Decks

The Patricia Ann is provided with a swim platform from which we launch the Miss Pat, our 10 foot tender.

A hard shell dingy is preferred due to the oyster outcroppings in the area which will deflate an inflatable.

We have painstakingly refurbished the exterior of the Patricia Ann from the waterline upwards.  In 2005 we painted her using Interlux Perfection, a two-part coating in the Awlgrip family of paints.  It is estimated that over 600 hours went into the process.  Over 90% of the project was preparation for painting.

He hull was also reburbished below the water line in 2008.

As tradition would have it, trawlers typically have teak side rails as does the Patricia Ann.  One maintenance coat of Cetol in September keeps them looking their best
